What’s On: Brunswick Picture House Grand Re-Opening
The Brunswick Picture House will re-open its doors over the Easter weekend April 14-16, resuming trade from the same location on Fingal Street in Brunswick Heads.
The Picture House has claimed its place as one of the town’s more sought-after attractions. Restored to its former glory by the team behind La Soiree, an award-winning circus/cabaret group that’s the been touring the world to great acclaim for the past decade, its main focus is on entertainment – film showings, cabaret and dance.
After wrapping up tours of two circus/cabaret shows, La Soirée and Club Swizzle, which did extended seasons in London’s Leicester Square, the Sydney Opera House, Perth and Auckland, The Brunswick Picture House is gearing up to once again throw open the doors this Easter weekend with a fun-packed program.
“It all starts on Good Friday with the all-ages ‘Really Good Good Friday Circus Bonanza’, which will leave the young (and the young at heart) with mouths agape. The show that everyone’s been talking about, the famous Cheeky Cabaret, returns with two killer instalments. Finally, Easter Sunday will herald the arrival of the inimitable Paul Capsis in Brunswick Heads — yes, the cabaret and stage legend whose voice has been described as ‘an act of God’.”
