What’s On: Tweed Regional Gallery

Surrounded by beautiful gardens and lawns and offering panoramic views of the Tweed River, the Tweed Regional Gallery is a must stop destination for art lovers of all ages. The gallery prides itself on bringing first-rate exhibitions to Northern NSW and has been internationally recognised for its cultural excellence.

Last year the Tweed Regional Gallery and Margaret Olley Art Centre outranked some of the country’s major cultural destinations to be named fourth best museum in TripAdvisor’s 2016 Travellers’ Choice for the Top 10 Museums Australia. The result placed the gallery at number eight in the Top 25 Museums in the South Pacific.

Upcoming exhibitions include: David Hockney Words & Picutres, the exhibition presents four major suites of artists’ prints produced by David Hockney from 1961–1977. United by their reference to historical works of literature and art, these prints were produced during the first two decades of Hockney’s career when he established his international reputation as a Pop artist.

A gallery that punches way above its weight that will remind you that you don’t need to be in the city to experience some of the best artwork from around the world. Always exceptionally well curated and presented with creativity make it a must see destination as part of your North Coast escape. Keep up to date with upcoming events and exhibitions here.
