Essential Eats: Tullys

Tullys is the new kid on the block in the Bay, and has quickly established itself as one of the best eats for locals and visitors alike. Tucked away behind the Suffolk Park shops, it’s perfect for a drop in coffee or something to eat seven days a week. Owners Michael and Morgan have done a stylish fit out with muted tones that are smooth and sleek. Despite being nearby a carpark, you wouldn’t know it as there are nooks to hide in and a beautiful bi-fold windows and the rear end of the café provides a glimpse out to tropical palms and roving bush turkeys that remind you you’re in the country.

The menu is small but the dishes are delicious and reflect the abundance of fresh seasonal produce the region has on offer. Think quality not quantity. Servings are generous and creatively put together. Brunch is served between 7:00am – 1:00pm, with a selection that will satisfy your taste buds. We recommend you try the Zucchini and Pea Fritters or for something sweet, Pancakes served with warm banana caramel and whipped cream is heaven sent.

Tullys have recently extended their hours and opened for nights 5:30pm – 10:00pm, Thursday to Sunday. And we’d have to say the dinner menu is the real highlight of Tullys. The Pan-Fried Fish with wakame greens, chilli jam and pickled shitake is out of this world. And it’s hard to go past the Thursday night burger special that comes with fries and a beer for $20.00 neat. The Sunday Roast is will transport you back to your childhood and if you’re looking for something sweet you’ll love the Toffee-Crusted Raspberry Crème Brûlée. There’s also a diverse cocktail and drinks menu that will satisfy creatures of the night.
