Essential Eats: Bayleaf Cafe

A trip to Byron Bay isn’t complete unless you visit Bayleaf Cafe. There is a constant hive of activity and it boasts a reputation for being busy seven days of the week, rain, hail or shine for good reason. Most importantly, the food is consistently good while the staff are always friendly, accommodating and the service is swift.

The menu is the same across breakfast and lunch, but if you can’t decide we believe it’s perfect for those lazy brunch windows in between. The Dukkah Poached Eggs is a favourite or if you’re after something lighter it’s hard to go past the Housemade Granola or Brekky Greens. The lunch menu boasts an array of exotic salads for both vegetarian and meat lovers.

For drinks, think turmeric lattes, kombucha, iced teas and delicious Marvell Street Coffee. Make sure you try the cold coconut brew – infused overnight with shredded coconut, and served over ice with sweet blended coconut cream. It’s just one Bayleaf’s specialties that has endeared itself to a somewhat cult following.

Open: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 2:30pm
Address: 2 Marvell Street, Byron Bay
